Your Lashes in Extreme Conditions

April 12, 2023

If you’re going on a trip and you’re wondering how you need to take care of your lashes in different conditions, this is the guide for you.

Swimming at beaches or pools

No matter what, the salt or the chlorine from swimming will weaken the lash adhesive and will impact your lash retention. While you can never fully prevent this from happen, you can lessen the effects by washing your lashes immediately after swimming. We recommend using a lash bath that was made specifically for lash extensions.

Hot Climates

While the heat from most places in the world won’t directly impact your lash retention, you are more likely to sweat. Sweat impacts the retention of your lashes because the salt in your sweat causes your lashes to dehydrate. The best way to make sure it does not impact your lashes too much is by washing them and blow-drying them as often as possible.

Cold Climates

Cold weather creates dry air causing your lashes to become more dry and brittle. This makes it harder for your lashes to hold onto the lash extensions which means they will not last as long.

The reality is that lash extensions have a harder time retaining in harsher environments. The best thing you can do is wash your lashes as often as possible to prevent salt and other chemicals from breaking down the lash adhesive. If you’re going on vacation, make sure you try to get a fill right before your vacation and right after to maintain your beautiful lashes!
