Top 5 Tips For Retaining Your Lashes

November 10, 2022

We’ve all had experiences where your lash extensions just aren’t retaining as well. Sometimes, it can be seasonal shedding or just your natural hair cycle, but there’s always something you can do to keep your lashes looking fresh and fluffy! Your brand new set of lash extensions is an investment to yourself so take care of them and keep them beautiful and fluffy with these top 5 tips.

Always wash and keep your lashes clean

Forgetting to clean your lashes is the top reason your lashes are not retaining. The natural oil build-up from your skin can cause the lash adhesive to break down. Remember to ask your lash technician if they sell lash baths that are specifically made for lashes.

Blow dry them on COOL setting after getting them wet

Blow drying your lashes will give them a beautiful fluffy look. But remember to use the cool setting as blow drying them on heat can make your lashes lose their curl or could possibly singe them! We recommend buying a mini-fan, but you can always use a blow dryer (just remember to put it on cool setting!)

Brushing them out regularly

Lashes are just like your hair. If you don’t brush them out, it will go all over the place and get tangled. Keep them looking fresh and maintained by brushing them out regularly.

Avoiding oil-based products around the eyes

As previously stated, oil is known to cause the lash adhesive to break down. Avoid any oil-based products around the eyes. Some products include sunscreen, vaseline, oil-based night creams and moisturizers, and face oils.

Maintaining your fills every two to three weeks

Unfortunately, lash extensions are not permanent, so remember to get a touch-up every 2-3 weeks to maintain those beautiful lashes!
