Different Types of Lash Extensions

June 30, 2023

There are many lash extension services that are available to choose from. The set you choose just depends on your style and what you’re looking to get! Also, the look of each individual lash set is also dependent on how many and how full your natural lashes are. The most basic lash sets that almost all salons will provide are: classic, hybrid, volume and mega volume lash sets. We’ll go over each one so you can pick the lash service that’s perfect for you!

Classic Lash Extensions

This type of lash extension service is the most natural. It mimics mascara and it only as full as your natural lashes. However, your lash line might appear a little darker as the extensions are usually thicker than your natural lashes. It will however make your lashes look longer and curlier. It’s perfect for clients who like natural looks!

Hybrid Lash Extensions

Hybrid lash extension service is the most customizable. Typically the lash artist will do 50% volume fans, and 50% classic extensions, but if you want it slightly fuller or slightly more natural you can also let the lash artist know. This set is perfect for clients who still like the natural look, but want to explore a bolder style.

Volume Lash Extensions

Volume lash extension services are for experienced lash clients. We do not typically recommend this set for newer clients, unless they are really sure they want this look. It’s gorgeous and it’s perfect for making a statement.

Mega Lash Extensions

Mega lash extensions are the most dramatic lash set possible. They give you the darkest possible lash line and the fullest lashes you can get. This can dramatically change your look so we only recommend this for clients who have experience with lashes and won’t be shocked by the difference this set makes.

Bonus: Angel (Wet) Extensions

Angel (wet) lash extensions are one of the newer lash extension styles. Not all salons may offer this lash set. This lash set uses the thinner volume lash extensions, but instead of fanning them out, you use spikes and apply like how you would a classic lash extension. It creates a darker lash line compared to the classic lash set.

Classic, hybrid, volume, mega or the newer angel set are all great choices and you should pick a lash set that matches your style. If you like natural, effortless looking lashes, try a classic or hybrid set. If you want to make a bold statement then maybe volume or mega is the best set for you. If you want to follow the newer trends, angel (wet) set extensions might be the best.
