Your new lash extensions are an investment! Make sure you maintain and clean your lashes. Here are the top reasons why you should wash your lashes.
It Lasts Way Longer
Lash extension adhesive is broken down by oil. The oil build-up on your lashes significantly shortens your retention time. You could easily go from weekly maintenance fills to a fill every 2-3 weeks just by washing your lashes.
Infections
If not properly cleansed and maintained, lash extensions can make you more prone to eye infections since bacteria and oil build-up is a lot easier. You definitely don’t want a stye or pink eye!
Your Lash Artist Will Be Happy
Having clean lashes makes it a lot easier for your lash artist to work on your lashes for several reasons. First, having clean lashes will allow the artist to have a clean canvas and can start doing your fill immediately, shortening the time of your fill. Secondly, the retention will be significantly better, therefore your lash artist will have the extra time to make your lashes extra full and fluffy.
How to Clean Your Lashes
Get your materials ready.
You need an oil-free lash shampoo, lash cleansing brush, spoolie, and a fan or blow dryer! We recommend using a lash shampoo that is specifically made for lash extensions, such as our Lash Dreams Gentle Lash Bath.
Cleansing the lashes
If using our foaming lash shampoo, shake the bottle, pump some onto your hand, dip the lash cleansing brush into the product, and gently brush the top lash line. It is recommended to start from your lash line and then brush downwards on the extensions. Once they are thoroughly cleansed, rinse the product with lukewarm water.
Drying your lashes
Gently pat dry your lashes with towel. Blow-dry or fan your lashes on the cool settings. It’s extremely important to remember to use a cool setting if you’re using a blow dryer as the heat can damage your lash extensions
Brush them out
Use your spoolie to brush out your lashes until nice and fluffy and you’re all finished!
Make sure you do this once a day to maintain your lashes!
