So many options…

Classic, hybrid, mixed, volume, mega volume, wispy, strip-lash. If you’re new to lash extensions, all these terms can be really confusing. I mean what really is the difference between a mixed set, hybrid set and wispy set?

There are usually 5 different lash services: Classic, Hybrid (mixed), Volume, Angel (wet), and Mega Sets. Every lash service can be styled differently depending on the client’s preferences and the shape of their eyes.

Classic Set

Classic sets are the most natural set you can ask for. The lash technician applies a single extension per natural lash which will make your lashes look longer and thicker. The fullness of the extensions will be the fullness of your natural lashes. This set kind of looks like you put on mascara except cleaner and better.

Volume Set

Volume sets are more dramatic. The lash technician applies multiple lashes (called fans) to a single natural lash. Typically each fan consists of 4+ extensions. This will make your lashes look full and glamorous.

Hybrid & Mixed Sets

The terms hybrid and mixed can be used interchangeably for lashes. For this set, the lash technician uses a combination of classic extensions and volume fans making this the most versatile set in terms of fullness. It is perfect for people who want more full than classic, but feel like volume is too much for them.

Angel & Wet Sets

Angel and wet sets can be used interchangeably as well. This set incorporates classic application with very light volume spikes. This set gives you a dark lash line without adding any weight to your natural lashes while still looking super textured and full. This set is extremely versatile and would work on almost every type of client.

Mega Volume

WARNING. The most dramatic set offered. This set is only recommended for those experienced with lashes who absolutely the GLAMMED out look. Each mega volume fan consists of 10+ extensions per natural lash. Typically, the client needs to have very healthy lashes to maintain this kind of set, otherwise, it will not hold.

Styles

Each lash service can be styled different to match the client’s preferences and eye shapes. Certain styles work better with different facial and eye anatomies. A reputable, trained lash artist can help consult you to make a decision that matches your preferences while still keeping in mind styles that best match your face!

Wispy

Wispy means that there are varying lengths used throughout the set. This allows the set to have texture, instead of it looking uniform and all the same length.

Strip-lash/Spikey

Strip-lash and spikey sets incorporate spikes throughout the set. This look is a lot more dramatic in styling and can really change up the look of your extensions.

Doll Eye

Doll eye styling is when the longest length of the extensions is focused in the center of the eye. This styling opens up the eye, giving it a “doe-eye” effect.

Cat Eye

Cat eye styling is when the longest length of the extensions is focused on the outer corner of the eye, giving the eye a winged look. This gives the effect of the “fox” or “siren” eyes.
